Last Tuesday: New Skills

I feel I'm becoming part of the company and less like a confused kid with a computer. Tuesday, I was given access to the "back door" of Wine Industry Network. This is because my new project is working on creating member profiles. Member profiles consist of a spreadsheet showing how many profile clicks a customer got in the past year, and how many of those profile clicks were because of our emails, our webpage, or other advertising.
At first, I was completely confused. Everyone else in the office is extremely tech savvy and knew all the codes and controls. I definitely was a lot slower than my coworkers at creating the profile reports, but I am getting the hang of it.

Wine and Weed

So recently the project I've been working on at work is searching for potential sponsors or companies willing to pay for advertisements at Wine Industry Network's Wine and Weed Symposium. Basically what I'm doing is looking through a list of sponsors that were at the HighTimes convention a few months ago and making a data sheet with the company name, the name of their contact, their phone number, email, and address. It's been actually pretty interesting and challenging. A lot of these companies don't have solid contact information so you find yourself spending a lot of time researching a single person. However, the task is also pretty interesting. Some of the companies are doing some neat and innovative things.
