Goodbye Blogger!

I guess this is my last entry, or assignment ever, for an HHS Ag class. I was never an ag kid, and it was pretty obvious. Nevertheless, the classes I've taken have prepared me for life in ways I never imagined. Overall, I spent 48 hours on this project. I just finished entering all my profit into AET (last minute, but did anyone expect differently from me?), my profit has been $720.00. That's pretty incredible. What's even more incredible is how fast I spend it. Jesus. Anyways, I don't know what this post is. But yeah. Thanks Ms. Hunt, ily

OOps.

So, I was feeling pretty good about my progress on the profile reports on Tuesday. However, come wednesday and I discover I was going about it all wrong. And after spending 3 hours fixing my mistakes, I somehow screwed it up again! Oh well, it's all part of the learning process how I see it.

Last Tuesday: New Skills

I feel I'm becoming part of the company and less like a confused kid with a computer. Tuesday, I was given access to the "back door" of Wine Industry Network. This is because my new project is working on creating member profiles. Member profiles consist of a spreadsheet showing how many profile clicks a customer got in the past year, and how many of those profile clicks were because of our emails, our webpage, or other advertising.      At first, I was completely confused. Everyone else in the office is extremely tech savvy and knew all the codes and controls. I definitely was a lot slower than my coworkers at creating the profile reports, but I am getting the hang of it.

How I like WIN

So by now I've been going into work at WIN for a solid month. I have to say that I really enjoy the work even though it's online. It's super interesting to be educated on the industry you've grown up being surrounded by. Plus it's even cooler to get to see what kind of products and ideas entrepreneurs in the wine and Weed industries are able to come up with. It kind of inspires you to try to think of innovative ideas. You also start to pay attention to website design, user friendliness, and style of different web pages. It's definitely noticeable that the style of the website affects ones interest in the product. So all in all, I'm definitely learning a lot at this job and gaining valuable life skills.

QikVin

This quirky invention comes from the wine industry network side of my job. It's called the Qikvin bottle. Basically it keeps your wine fresher longer by letting the bottom side raise up as wine is being poured and creates a vaccum. With less oxygen in the bottle, the wine lasts longer without spoiling.
When you're getting involved in the wine and cannabis industry, some funny and interesting gadgets are bound to pop up. This one is called the Toker Poker.....

Wine and Weed

So recently the project I've been working on at work is searching for potential sponsors or companies willing to pay for advertisements at Wine Industry Network's Wine and Weed Symposium. Basically what I'm doing is looking through a list of sponsors that were at the HighTimes convention a few months ago and making a data sheet with the company name, the name of their contact, their phone number, email, and address. It's been actually pretty interesting and challenging. A lot of these companies don't have solid contact information so you find yourself spending a lot of time researching a single person. However, the task is also pretty interesting. Some of the companies are doing some neat and innovative things.
